University of East London are offering sports scholarships for rowers who compete at an international level and who start studying at UEL in 2012. The scholarships, which will cover full international tuition fees, are open to individuals from outside the EU. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply. Applicants should apply for a place at the university before they apply for a scholarship. For full details visit the UEL Scholarships page.

Rowing is the most successful sport at UEL, and we currently have nine international rowers in our successful squad. John Collins and Alan Sinclair were the first to represent UEL at the European Universities Rowing Championship in 2011, an event at which they won gold in the Men’s Double Sculls.

The rowing club trains out of the London Regatta Centre on the Royal Albert Dock by our Dockland Campus. University of East London’s wide range of programmes and flexible study policies enables us to attract the top talent from the prestigious Leander, London and Henley Rowing Clubs.

The Student Athlete Scholarship Scheme is one of the most attractive in the UK, and is complimented by our flexible academic policy for elite athletes. Our campus proximity to the Olympic Park in Stratford as well as immediate access to the Docklands waterfront also makes UEL a fantastic proposition for prospective student athletes and UEL is becoming a first choice for many students performing at the highest level.

The University of East London Boat Club is currently inviting applications for our Rowing Scholarships programme for the 2016 / 2017 academic year. Scholarships are available for a contribution of up to £6000 for undergraduate and post graduate degrees which can be studied on a full or part time basis. Additionally, scholars receive additional support of £1000, performance related bonuses and complete university support for your career and your sport. With immediate access to the Docks water front, use of water equipment and full use of the brand new £21m land training facility, training for your rowing and working couldn’t be easier.
